I have been actively following political situation in both Malaysia and Pakistan. I have been always a supporter and admirer of Tun Mahathir Muhammad. But nowdays, i have noticed that Umno's popularity graph is really going down. People are more interested in the opposition, specially the youth. Usually, large number of voters are from the youth.
From my analysis, i believe some wrong decision makings, and not good timing, had made Umno's graph down.
People seems to be sick of the current govt, and everybody wants change. They might also got inspired by the uprising in the middle east. But things are totally different in Malaysia compare to middle east.
Some people are also talking about bringing revolution in Malaysia, and turning Putrajaya into Tahrir Square.
Well, from my point of view, it is not possible in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, Majority of the people are living easy and comfy life. Everyone gets their basic needs, everyone gets free education (at least untill college), everyone can get free health services, and many more.
In Malaysia, in some particular cities, there are more cars than people,
In Malaysia, most of the universities student have cars, have smartphones, have all those things which even working people in other countries cant imagine to buy.
So, i dont know why Malaysians think there is need of revolution.
Ofcourse there is corruption here,
but comparing to other countries, it is still negligible.
I believe Umno is not good in selling themselves.
For example, BN has done so much for Malaysia. Or , u can say, they had build Malaysia , and done eveything which we can find in today's Malaysia. But, they failed to make people realize that.
In Pakistan, when a govt ruled by a certain political party, even if they make a highway for certain Places, they will use that in all campaigns and surprisingly people will vote for them just because during there period , they build a highway.
But in Malaysia, BN has build almost whole country, but they couldnt use that point to gain more votes, instead they are busy buying votes.
